Paul Newman: 1925-2008

27 09 2008

Another one of the Hollywood Greats, Paul Newman died on Friday. He was 83.

A fine actor with a tremendous career, a philanthropist with a long history of humanitarian work, a very good race car driver, and, overall, a gentlemen filled of great class and distinction.

It pains me to see him go.

Required Viewing:

Hud, Cool Hand Luke, The Hustler, Color of Money, The Verdict, Slap Shot, Nobody’s Fool, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Road To Perdition

Thanks to the power of YouTube, Alan Sepinwall, and The Remote Island you can see how Newman was a damn good TV star as well: Remembering Paul Newman by Ben Kallen

Turner Classic Movies sets a 24-hour Newman tribute for Oct. 12.

Paul Newman is a legend for his work in movies, and he’s a stud for all his work outside of movies
